The African Judges and Jurists Forum (AJJF) is pleased to announce the election of Justice Lillian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza as the new Deputy Chairperson of its Board.
Justice Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza, a distinguished jurist and academic, brings to the Forum a wealth of experience in judicial leadership, legal scholarship and commitment to advancing the rule of law across Africa. Her election reflects AJJF’s dedication to strengthening judicial independence, promoting rule of law and fostering collaboration among judges and jurists on the continent.
Speaking on her election, Justice Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza reaffirmed her commitment to supporting AJJF’s mission: “The Forum is a vital platform for dialogue and innovation in African jurisprudence. I look forward to working with colleagues to deepen our collective impact on justice and governance.”
Former Chief Justice of Kenya, Dr. Willy Mutunga who is also President of AJJF, welcomedher election, noting that her expertise and vision will enhance the Forum’s role in addressing pressing issues of justice, democracy and human rights.
