Moderated by Ms. Henrietta Ekefre, Programme Lead at AJJF, this session lays the foundation for impactful dialogue and action across the continent.

Day 1 continues with two powerful panels shaping the path toward justice:

Panel 1 (09:30–11:00): Contextualizing Reparatory Justice & Restitution of Cultural Heritage

Scholars and cultural experts from across Africa and the diaspora explore lessons from local and AU restitution efforts, WWII-era comparisons, and the evolving AU Common Position. Moderated by Dr. Shelton Makore (UFS).

Panel 2 (11:20–13:00): Community Dialogues on Reparatory Justice

Real voices, real stories. Community leaders from Namibia, Tanzania, and South Africa share lived experiences, grievances, and calls to action. The session highlights grassroots advocacy, research needs, and international mechanisms for justice. Moderated by Ms. Henrietta Ekefre (AJJF).
